This Thursday my graphic communications class took a field trip to the New Designers exhibit in Camden, London. I personally have never spent a lot of time researching different designers, or even set foot in a design studio, so this experience was fascinatingly different from anything I have ever seen before. There were endless booths filled with the works of aspiring graphic, technology, studio, furniture, and interior designers. I was inspired to see all the work and heart put into every detail of each booth. The business cards were really fun to look at and compare to one another. Each one was different with bold colours versus pastels, or cartoons verses floral patterns, and I loved how simple or even extravagant people could make their cards while still keeping them organised and interesting to look at. Here are some of my favourites below!

The business cards themselves were one of the most eye-catching things about the exhibit. Each person took so much time and detail into their graphics, typeface, and colors that went into their little business card. Seeing as this is the first thing a buyer sees that will set each designer apart from everything else, I can see why this would be a tiny but very important detail of a business.

This is the Hallmark booth! They had a fun contest set up where you could design your own graphic or letter card and post it on the wall for a chance to win a fifty dollar gift card to Urban Outfitters. I loved the clothsepin- wire design to display all of the pictures. It was a playful design, and I loved that one of the representatives for Hallmark encouraged people to contribute to the wall and add their own creative card!

Things like this make my day. This writer probably spoke to every girl who has unfairly and restlessly judged and crisped herself- which is all of us.

This was one of the prettiest graphics in the whole exhibit. Not only is the quote darling, but I love how the writer used a different typeface for every word or couple of words. It adds some flair and a upbeat attitude, one of those quotes that makes you feel a little more bubbly after reading.
